Green Tomato Pie
Ingredients

- 4 cups tomatoes
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 5 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Recipe
- 1 make crust for 9-inch pie. core green tomatoes and cut into thin wedges, as you do for apple pie. mix together dry ingredients.
- 2 stir in lemon juice and tomatoes until tomatoes are coated.
- 3 fill pie crust and add top crust. flute edge and slit top 4 or 5 times.
- 4 bake 30 minutes at 425 degrees.
- 5 reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake another 20 minutes.
- 6 tastes like mincemeat pie.
