Pot Roast With Wine

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 2 lbs pot roast
- 1 lb small onion
- 1/4 lb small mushroom
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomatoes
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1 teaspoon mixed herbs
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- salt and pepper
- oil (for frying)
Recipe
- 1 heat the oil in a large pot and brown the meat all over.
- 2 remove the meat.
- 3 add onions and mushrooms to pot and saute.
- 4 return meat to pot.
- 5 add the tomatoes, water, wine, mixed herbs, sugar, salt and pepper.
- 6 cook until tender, approximately 2 hours.
- 7 let the meat rest for 10 minutes before carving and serve the pot juices alongside the slices of beef.
