Reduced Fat Vegetarian Cheeseburger Pie

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 cups vegetarian ground beef (equivalent to 1 lb)
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon vegetarian worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup egg substitute
  • 1 cup low fat cottage cheese
  • 1 cup low-fat cheddar cheese
  • 1 frozen 9-inch deep dish pie shell, thawed

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2 set frozen pie crust on counter to thaw.
  • 3 spray non-stick skillet with cooking spray.
  • 4 heat frozen imitation burger in skillet with onion powder until heated through.
  • 5 add flour and worcestershire sauce, stirring until evenly coated.
  • 6 remove from heat and set aside.
  • 7 in a small bowl, fold cottage cheese into egg substitute.
  • 8 layer into pie crust: 1/3 cheddar cheese, 1/2 of meat mixture, 1/2 of egg mixture, 1/3 cheddar cheese, 1/2 of meat mixture, 1/2 of egg mixture, remaining cheddar cheese.
  • 9 bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is set.
