Shredded Barbecued Beef

Total Time: 7 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 7 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 3 lbs boneless chuck roast
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Recipe

  • 1 place chuck roast in a slow cooker.
  • 2 combine remaining ingredients in mixing bowl. pour barbecue sauce mixture over chuck roast.
  • 3 cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or on high 4-5 hours.
  • 4 remove chuck roast from slow cooker; shred meat with fork. place shredded meat back in slow cooker. stir meat to evenly coat with sauce.
  • 5 spoon meat onto sandwich buns and top with additional barbecue sauce, if desired.
