Persimmon Holiday Pie

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup melted margarine
- 2 cups persimmon pulp
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup walnut meat (optional)
Recipe
- 1 mix first three ingredients and pat firmly in a pie pan.
- 2 bake at 375 for 15 minutes or chill.
- 3 mix persimmon pulp in a large bowl and beat in all other ingredients in order given.
- 4 pour into graham cracker crust and bake in 325 oven for 1 hour or until firm.
- 5 serve with whipped cream topped with chopped nuts if desired.
