Slow-cooked Chili

Ingredients

  • Servings: 14
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans light red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes, cut up
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pizza sauce
  • 1 (4 ounce) can green chilies, chopped
  • 4 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 in a dutch oven, cook the beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
  • 2 transfer to a 5-quart slow cooker, stir in the remaining ingredients.
  • 3 cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
