Salsicce Al Crema ( Sausage/cream Sauce)

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb bulk hot italian sausage
  • 1 cup onion, finely minced
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon tarragon
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • cooked pasta, your choice

Recipe

  • 1 heat a very large skillet; melt butter and oil, saute onion and garlic until translucent.
  • 2 add sausage meat and spices to the onion mixture and cook on moderate heat for 10-15 minutes, or until the sausage is completely cooked. drain fat.
  • 3 add the cream and reduce by 1/3, this should take about 5 minutes on moderate heat. stir very frequently to ensure that it doesn’t stick or burn.
  • 4 taste, adjust seasoning with pepper and whatever you want to add, pour over hot pasta.
