Sirloin Meatloaf With Spaghetti Sauce

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup carrot, shredded
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1 lb italian sausage
  • 1 cup oats
  • 3/4 cup spaghetti sauce
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 400°f.
  • 2 heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat then add the onion and carrot and cook for 4 minutes. add the garlic and italian seasoning and cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and brown. remove from the heat and cool, 5 minutes.
  • 3 combine beef, sausage, oats, 1/4 cup spaghetti sauce, egg whites, salt and pepper in a large bowl and mix well. add the onion mixture and mix well. shape the meat mixture in a loaf pan. spread the remaining 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce over the top.
  • 4 bake at 400f for 50-60 minutes. let stand 5 minutes before serving.
