Sausage, Pepper & Onion Hogies

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 3 medium green peppers, sliced
  • 3 medium red peppers, sliced
  • 3 lbs hot italian sausage links (may use mild, it's just a matter of preference)
  • 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6 italian hoagie rolls

Recipe

  • 1 cook sausage in skillet over medium heat, about 15 minutes, turning every once in awhile.
  • 2 you want sausage to get nice and browned.
  • 3 while sausage is cooking heat oil in large fry pan.
  • 4 add garlic, onions, and peppers.
  • 5 saute for about 10 minutes.
  • 6 then cover and simmer for another 10-15 minutes-- until all vegs.
  • 7 are tender.
  • 8 remove sausage from skillet& drain on paper towels.
  • 9 cut the links into 2" size pieces.
  • 10 heat broiler.
  • 11 combine everything in a large bowl and blend together well.
  • 12 spoon into individual hogie rolls.
  • 13 top with mozzarella cheese.
  • 14 broil until cheese melts.
