Savoury Sausage Picnic Loaf

Total Time: 1 hr 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 500 g ground sausage
  • 6 shallots, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons angostura bitters
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs
  • 1/2 garlic clove, crushed
  • seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tomato, peeled & chopped

Recipe

  • 1 combine all ingredients together and form into a loaf shape.
  • 2 lightly grease a meatloaf pan or tin and spoon the mixture into the tin, making sure to press down well.
  • 3 cover and bake at 180°c for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  • 4 drain off any excess fat from loaf.
  • 5 let loaf sit and cool and refrigerate.
  • 6 serve cold and slice thinly to serve.
