Savory Meatloaf

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 -2 teaspoon summer savory
  • bottled chili sauce (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2 in a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients except chili sauce.
  • 3 mix with hands until thoroughly blended.
  • 4 mound into loaf pan.
  • 5 top can be covered with chili sauce.
  • 6 bake, uncovered, for 1 hour or until done.
  • 7 mashed potatoes and peas are dh's favorite accompaniments for this meatloaf.
  • 8 note: summer savory has become hard for me to find in the chain grocery stores lately; but it is worth the search for what it adds to the meatloaf.
