Sauerbraten Meatballs

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3/4 cup soft breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 3 beef bouillon cubes
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 3/4 cup gingersnap crumbs
Recipe
- 1 combine beef, bread crumbs, onions, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well.
- 2 shape into 1 inch balls and fry till browned in lightly greased pan.
- 3 remove meatballs and keep warm.
- 4 add 2 1/4 cups water to drippings in pan, bring to boil.
- 5 stir in bouillon cubes, sugar, lemon juice and gingersnap crumbs.
- 6 add meatballs and simmer for 30 minutes.
- 7 tastes good with wide noodles.
