Smoked Cheddar & Bacon Stuffed Hamburgers

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup minced onion
  • 1 egg, beaten (optional)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon barbecue seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 2 ounces smoked cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and halved
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • lettuce leaf
  • sliced tomato

Recipe

  • 1 in a large bowl gently combine beef, egg, breadcrumbs, barbecue seasoning, and celery salt until they are well blended and begin to bind.
  • 2 shape beef into 8 very flat patties.
  • 3 top half of the patties with equal amounts of cheese and bacon, then top with the remaining patties.
  • 4 press edges firmly to seal.
  • 5 grill over medium heat for 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees f.
  • 6 serve on hamburger bun (optional toasted) with the lettuce and tomato.
