Sicilian Meatballs

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup fresh breadcrumb
  • 3 -4 tablespoons milk
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 -4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 lb italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1/4 cup chopped pine nuts, toasted (1/4 cup is measured after chopping)
  • 2 -3 tablespoons currants (or to taste)

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium bowl mix together the bread crumbs and milk; let stand for 5 minutes.
  • 2 mix in the parmesan cheese, onion, egg, parsley, egg, garlic, salt and pepper.
  • 3 add in sausage meat, pine nuts and currants; mix with clean hands, and shape in small meatballs.
  • 4 place on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes.
  • 5 add to sauce.
