Sauerkraut Mit Kielbasa

Ingredients

- 2 lbs turkey kielbasa, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 1/2 lbs sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
- 2 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced into rings
- 1 medium onion, sliced into rings
- 1 cup low-sodium low-fat chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon caraway seed (optional)
- 1/2 cup shredded low-fat swiss cheese
Recipe
- 1 place half the sauerkraut in a slow cooker, and top with the sausage. cover with the remaining sauerkraut, apples, and onion. pour chicken broth over all, and sprinkle with caraway seeds.
- 2 cover, and cook on high 3-4 hours or low 6-8 hours.
- 3 place each serving in a broiler-safe individual bowl or casserole, sprinkle with swiss cheese and place under broiler for 1-2 minutes until cheese turns bubbly and brown.
