Momsmom's Black Bean Tamale Chili

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 3
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tamales
  • fresh cilantro (dried has no taste)
  • corn tortilla chips, to eat it with

Recipe

  • 1 open the cans, dump contents into a pot that's big enough [rinse the cans and recycle]. pull the paper off the tamales and break them up into bite-size pieces. stir to mix ingredients. medium heat, let it get hot, stirring occasionally.
  • 2 if you're in a hurry just heat and eat, or you can let it simmer for a while. the cilantro tastes best if you add it late.
