Havregryns Konfect ( Oatmeal Confection)

Ingredients

  • 400 g rolled oats or 400 g oatmeal
  • 250 g sugar
  • 125 g butter
  • 65 ml fresh cream
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond essence

Recipe

  • 1 grind the oats to fine flour (we have normally done this in a meat mincer), melt the butter over very gentle heat or in the microwave oven at low setting.
  • 2 (do not brown) add the ground oat meal, sugar, almond essence, cream and cocoa, mix well and place in fridge to cool.
  • 3 when cold roll into balls about 16 mm diameter and coat with sugar.
  • 4 store in fridge.
