Sfougato (meat Custard)

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 35 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 lbs zucchini, finely chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup butter (or less)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, minced
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2-1 cup grated feta (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 saute onion and squash in butter for about 15 minutes until veggies are soft, stirring frequently. set aside.
  • 3 in butter remaining in pan cook beef, stirring until redness disappears, drain off the excess fat.
  • 4 beat eggs; add milk, beef and the rest of the ingredients.
  • 5 place in a 2 1/2 quart baking dish and bake for 45- 60 minutes until firm.
